Gitzo carbon fiber microphone booms continue to set the standard in terms of lightweight, rigidity and fast operation thanks to the 6X tubing and the G-Lock system. In addition to these well known carbon fiber models, with the new 2009 collection Gitzo introduces a fully revised range of aluminum booms with features and materials so far available for top of the range models only. All aluminum booms now feature our latest aluminum tube, 30% lighter than its predecessor, with Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR), 1.2mm wall thickness and brushed matt black finish for improved locking performance and minimised reflectivity. This new tube allows for a dramatic weight reduction and, thanks to ALR, aluminum booms are now incredibly quicker, easier and more precise to operate. Also the innovative and exclusive G-Lock system is now available on aluminum models. G-Lock, until now available on 6X models only, allows for even faster and stronger locking and increases rigidity by 20%. This improvement is very important being rigidity a key performance for microphone booms. All 6X carbon fiber and aluminum booms come with a smart Gitzo display cleaner and a convenient anti dust bag for storage and packing.
